The significance and the past
Ferrero, an Italian chocolatier, was founded in 1946, but it wasn’t until 1982 that it launched the Ferrero Rocher brand, which is considered to be its premium brand.
1979 – 1982
The well-known chocolate company’s emblem, which was developed in 1979, consisted of an extremely sophisticated badge enclosed inside an elaborate circular frame. The text that was produced within the frame was done in two distinct styles: the top “Ferrero” was done in extra-bold capitals of a sophisticated serif font, while the bottom line with “Rocher” was done in delicate cursive, accented by a vignette. Both styles were accomplished well.
1982 – Present
In 1982, the legendary brand Ferrero Rocher underwent a rebranding that resulted in the introduction of a new logo style, which is in use to this day. The capitalised text is written in a bespoke serif tour face with elongated and pointed tails of certain letters. It is performed in a warm brown hue and, depending on the requirements, it may be set on a backdrop of either white or gold.
Size and hue of the text
The Ferrero Rocher visual identity uses a bespoke beautiful serif typeface that is quite similar to typefaces such as Shango Bold and Anavio Small Capitals Bold, but with certain lines bolded and tweaked. The two letters “R” that make up the top portion of the logo overlap each other, while the letters that make up the lower portion of the logo have space between them. This gives the famous logotype an even higher level of complexity and originality than it already had.
First and foremost, the goal of Ferrero Rocher and the very nature of the brand itself is chocolate, which is represented by the warm brown hue of the company’s writing. It also lends an air of sophistication and opulence to the brand, creating the impression of superiority in terms of both taste and appearance.
